EXCERPT:

Gwen is leaning against the window. Every time I leave her, I forget. She’s not all gangly limbs and huge eyes and dirty hair hanging in her face, flinching at her own shadow. Not anymore. That Gwen still haunts my island, but this—this Gwen is breathtaking.
She thinks she’s broken. Fractured pieces of a broken mind, held together by medication and stubborn denial. But she doesn’t see herself, not the way I do.
Lane had that right. She’s breathtaking—even now, when I know she’s sad and broken. She stands straight, a pair of thin sleep pants curving around her ass before falling loose and free to the floor. Her shoulders are back, graceful and strong, under the thick sweater she’s wearing, her hair pulled into a messy knot at the top of her head.
She can see me, my reflection in the dark glass. And I see the tension in her tighten, drawing her up and sharp, until she’s almost vibrating with it. “Why are you here?” she asks, her voice low and hoarse.
She sounds like that when she’s been crying. I know—I’ve heard her so many times, heard her tears. Wiped them away. Whispered happy thoughts until I teased a smile from her.
“Peter,” she snaps, and I jerk, out of the memories and into the moment.
“You ran away.”
She gives an unladylike snort. “You decided you were a delusion of my past, and then you expected me to sit there and listen to your insane ramblings. Thanks, but no. I can’t do that. I’ve had enough crazy for one life.” She bites her lip, and then blurts, “You stole my file, didn’t you? That’s how you know about the Boy.”
“Do you remember the firefly meadow?”
She goes still, and I smile, gently. “You do.”
“That wasn’t real,” she whispers, and I feel the shudder.
“We’d hide there, from the lsot boys. And you’d fall asleep telling me your happy thoughts, and wake up to a galaxy of fireflies, and we’d chase them until you made yourself sick, laughing. And then I’d hold you and we’d stare at the stars, and you always said they were different. It smelled like jasmine and honey-“
“And wild woods and freedom,” she whispers, her blue eyes impossibly wide in her pretty face. I take a tentative step toward her, and touch her fingers.
Why are your stars different?
“It wasn’t a delusion, Gwendy. You know it wasn’t. Trust yourself.”
She shudders. “Can’t. My mind lies. It wasn’t—“
“Gwendy,” I say, desperately. Her eyes are filling with tears and I can feel the disbelief, the way it will tear apart the world I’ve known, and the girl I’ve loved, and I can’t. I move without thinking, catch her head and bring her lips to mine.

Behind Your Back Cover Reveal!!

BehindYourBack

Today is the cover reveal for Chelsea M. Cameron's upcoming title, BEHIND YOUR BACK. This book will be released in February 2015 but be sure to check out the author's note below for some special news about the release!

BLURB COMING SOON!

Add the book to GOODREADS.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This past summer I traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland for a book signing. It was my first trip outside of the US and I was nervous as hell. While I was on the plane and begging for my motion sickness medication to kick in, I started thinking about a character I didn’t “know” yet. Every now and then I will get a character’s voice in my head and not have a story for them. More often than not, my books start with just one character. I don’t know where the story is going, or what they’re going to do. I only have their voice guiding me. I told myself I wasn’t going to work on anything new on my trip, since I already had existing deadlines. But of course the voice ignored me. He kept talking to me. I couldn’t resist, so I started working on his story in my gorgeous hotel room with its view of Edinburgh castle. I wrote some more words at the Elephant House, which is where J. K. Rowling started writing the first Harry Potter book. Over vegetable lasagna and jasmine tea, a story started to develop. It was different than anything I’d ever written. Told completely from a male point of view. It was also a romantic suspense, something I’d been dying to try writing, but didn’t think I had the ability to do. I called my mother in my excitement and her words were “that’s completely different than anything you’ve ever written.” This is that story. And since this story is so completely different, I’m doing something different when I release it. In February (date to be determined), you will not only get the first book on that day, Behind Your Back, you will also be able to buy the sequel, Back To Back! No weeks or months of waiting to find out what happens. You can read the two books in one day if you want. Instant gratification. I hope you fall in love with these books as much as I have while writing them.   TEASER: She wears a wig and colored contacts the first time I see her in person. Her electric green eyes are too memorable, even in a crowd. But underneath the plain brown wig and the brown contacts and the bored expression she wears, something shines through that she can’t cover up. I recognize it right away, even if I wouldn’t have been searching for her. Raising myself from my chair, I cross the coffee shop. She watches her phone, pretending to be the kind of girl who can’t abandon her Facebook page for longer than three seconds. But I know. I know her. Her finger hovers over the screen of the phone, her shoulders slump, but her foot jiggles just a little bit. Not enough for anyone but me to notice. But I see it. I see her. I pass by her table on my way out the door. I give her one glance. A visual brush over her body. I know she sees me, but pretends not to. She pushes the wig back and I can just barely see the flash of red hair at the nape of her neck, along with a tattoo. I can’t see all of it, but I don’t need to. I know that, too. A Celtic knot. I pass through the door and don’t look back. Her eyes follow me down the street to the crosswalk and until I’m out of view. She sees me.

Blog tour and review for Numb by Lynn Rider!!

Twenty-three year old Meagan Chambers always wanted to be a musician.
Her parents wanted her to be a doctor.

She decided to risk everything to follow her dreams…

Starting over in the city of her dreams, her hard work and dedication had paid off, landing Meagan a coveted seat on one of the country’s top orchestras.
She was doing what she loved.
And everything was perfect.

Until she met Ashton Harris.

Lead guitarist and backup vocalist to the chart-topping Silver Knight, Ashton was unlike anyone she’d ever met. With one glance of his crooked grin, she knew he could be her undoing, but determined to succeed, she refused to let anyone step in her way …

Not even him.

Because falling for someone like Ashton Harris could ruin everything.

I started down the dimly lit hallway when a large beefy arm shot out across my chest, blocking my way. I was momentarily stunned by the firmness and unforgiving movement when I ran into it full stride.
“You can’t go in there,” a deep rumble of a voice said sternly.
I followed the tree limb sized arm where it attached to the largest African American man I had ever seen. He stared down at me, looking like he was prepared to fight. I looked at him quizzically.
“You can’t go in there.” He gave me a pointed look that told me there was no room for argument. “It’s occupied,” he added.
I stepped back and nodded, ready to turn on my heel when the bathroom door swung open, lighting the dim hallway. My eyes landed on the black combat style boots and then traveled up the length of the long powerful legs that were fitted so perfectly in a pair of worn jeans. His long fingers held tightly around the denim near his crotch as he was still in the midst of pulling up his zipper as he strode from the men’s room. Embarrassed for gawking, my eyes quickly darted to the pair of muscular, tattooed forearms before flitting to the brunette who stumbled from the same bathroom doorway, clinging onto him. My eyes landed on his and my heart plummeted to my stomach.
Ashton.

My 4 star review of Numb by Lynn Rider

Lynn Rider’s debut novel- was amazing. I couldn’t ask for more from a new author. There was romance, lust, angst, and the works! There is also a kind of sort of love triangle- even though I was loving Ashton from the beginning!

Meagan is a musician, and she wants to succeed and really make a living that way- and when she is in Nashville with her brother- that’s where she meets Ashton. I really liked Meagan and appreciated her gusto for live and her passion for music. Ashton and Meagan end up being friends- but she always knew he wanted more and she didn’t want to let herself fall for him.

Now she lives in New York- and Meagan is dating Douglas- while he is a good man- he is an extremely boring man. But she knows that he couldn’t ever hurt her- even though she may not be as in love with him, as he is with her.

And then Ashton shows up, hell bent on proving that he has changed his rock star status and has changed his ways. He wants to prove to Meagan that he can be the man that she deserves too. Even though he isn’t safe and boring like Douglas- he is wants to make her happy, and for that he will do anything.

I loved the story, and the somewhat love triangle, even though we all know the obvious choice! The plot was well thought out and put together. The themes of safety, doing what’s right, and following your heart are scattered throughout this story. And I really loved the secondary characters- Meagan’s brother Owen and his boyfriend Phillip- and Leah, she was hilarious. I can’t wait for more from Lynn, she is a great new author to follow and love!

I'm a wife and mother of two beautiful children. Being from sunny south Florida, I never spent much time inside reading. I decided to give it a try with a highly talked about trilogy and found myself devouring the pages like a mad woman. Although I knew I was hooked with that trilogy, the hundreds of books I read in the following year proved it.

Through my love of reading sparked the inspiration to try my hand at writing. I wrote two full length novels as a hobby and only through my husbands encouragement did I ever consider self publishing.

My 4.5 star review of What’s Left of Us by Amanda Maxlyn

“There is no life if it’s not a life with you.”

Amanda straight up scares the shizz out of me. In a good way, obviously. But when I read What’s Left of Me, I died and was brought back to life a million times- or at least that’s what it felt like anyway. It was a top read for me in 2013, and so when I got an ARC of What’s Left of Us, MORE Aundrea, MORE Parker- I was like, HELL YES! Even though it made me cry, the book made me think and love- and Amanda proved why I love her- and her books

This book made me love Aundrea- and respect her character. I can’t imagine what it feels like to constantly fear for your life. She is cancer free in this story- and she’s married to Parker, what a great outlook, right? But she still have that crazy fear, and heart problem from the first story, that makes her outlook on life a little skewed, and no one can blame her. Even though its manageable- the doctors all say so, it’s still absolutely terrifying.

And this book made me love Parker, that much more. He is totally Aundrea’s cheerleader and biggest supporter. He tried everything to build her up and give her the absolute confidence that she needed in her life. And I really think that even though Aundrea had all these fears- absolutely, Parker helped her brave the rough waters. They were like the perfect couple- it was amazingly sweet and not over done in any way. There were really meant for each other.

This book was emotional for me in many different ways, happy and sad. And also a different way than in the first book. Amanda is going to be considered one of my auto authors, an author that I buy a book from- simply because its and Amanda Maxlyn book. And it’s because her writing sucks you in and you stay up until six a.m. because you MUST know how it ends.

Aundrea has dealt with a lot and themes of courage and living life to its fullest reign supreme in this novel. The plot was well developed and thought out, and even the secondary characters were well written. I loved the conclusion to Aundrea and Parker’s story- and it made me happy to know in their little book world- that they get their HEA.

Life works in mysterious ways.

Four years ago I became known as the girl with cancer.
I refuse to cry.
And I refuse to give in.
A relationship with a man is the last thing I’m looking for right now, but one night with Parker changes everything. He is persistent, and he knows what he wants. Me.
He doesn’t treat me like I’m fragile.
But he doesn’t know, and I’m not ready to tell him.
What if it changes everything?
Tragedy found me when I was seventeen.
Love found me when I was twenty-one.
My name is Aundrea McCall, and this is my journey.

I am the mother of two little boys, married to the love of my life, and living in one of the smallest towns in Minnesota. When I’m not chasing or cleaning up after my boys (yes, all three), I can be found writing or snuggled up with my kindle, a glass of wine, and spending time with my fictional friends and family.
I am first and foremost an avid reader! I love to read anything romance from paranormal, young/new adult, contemporary, and even yes, (wide eyes) erotic/BDSM.
