Like Candy blog tour !!

Book & Author details:

Like Candy by Debra Doxer
(Candy, #1)
Publication date: July 28th 2015
Genres: Mystery, Romance, Young Adult

Synopsis:
Revenge is sweet, just like candy.
Candy Seaborne knows she’s badass. She takes after her father, an assassin and possibly a spy, although he won’t admit to either. She idolizes him. Her dream is to follow in his footsteps. But first, she has to finish high school.

Biding her time, waiting for real life to begin, Candy craves drama and isn’t above manufacturing some. If you’re a classmate who wronged her or a boyfriend who cheated, watch your back. She’s no pushover, and revenge may be her favorite pastime.

Jonah Bryson is the senior class heartthrob who breaks all the stereotypes. He’s a jock, but he isn’t the typical player. He’s moody and antisocial. No girl has gotten anywhere with him since his last girlfriend broke his heart.

Candy sees Jonah as a challenge and the perfect distraction. But she may be in over her head because unlike everyone else, Jonah isn’t buying her tough act. He sees the lost, lonely girl inside. He sees too much. When he looks at her that way, she wants to let her guard down and be vulnerable. But that’s the last thing she should do because her father’s world is spilling over into hers, and life is about to get real much sooner than Candy expected.

My 5 star review of Like Candy
I love Debra Doxer- Play of Light was one of my favorite books last year, and she’s done it again with this new romantic suspense novel. And if you think she is a one trick pony- you are wrong, dead wrong. And she proves it with this story.

Candy is the heroine. And she is one badass mamma jamma! She wants to take after her father- who is an assassin, maybe even a spy- but he won’t say a word. She wants connection with him SO badly, she wants to be seen in his eyes as good. And she will do anything to prove it. She is only in high school, but she knows that after it’s over, and she makes it out alive- she will do anything to be just like her daddy. Her favorite word is revenge, and if you have wronged her in any way- watch out, she’s coming for you!

Jonah is the hero. He is the definition of high school jock, but he kind of breaks the mold. He is a bit antisocial for being a jock, and I think it’s due to the last girlfriend he had that worked him over.

And when Candy sets her sights on Jonah, watch out! And even though she plays Ms. Tough Girl, Jonah doesn’t buy it. He sees her for who she really is. Someone who is just a child, who gets her feelings hurt, who sometimes feels lost in the sea of people. What she should do is stay away from Jonah, because her father’s world is about to collide with hers. Jonah is definitely a distraction that she doesn’t really need- but she couldn’t stay away if she tried.

Candy is totally smart and determined, that’s what I love about a strong female character. They have goals, even if hers are a little off the beaten path, she knows what she wants. Jonah is a totally swoonworthy character- BUT he also has a secret- that we will have to wait for in part 2 of this delicious treat of a story.

Also- CLIFFY!! And man, I knew there was a part two- but HOLY HELL of a cliffhanger!! So many questions, so many things that are going unanswered, so I hope we get those answers in part two! I hope the distance between Candy and her father gets solved, and I hope Jonah gets the girl!! LOL. I am totally excited about getting the conclusion, and hopefully everyone gets their happy ending!!
